DAVID HOCKNEY'S
CASE STUDY/DESIGN
I studied british painter and photographer David Hockney unique style and perspective in his works. Using a series of 3-5 images and a non-traditional approach, I created a series of images as part of an experiment and case study
to creativity.
Hockney used a cubist perspective, an approach popularized in painting by Pablo Picasso, where the viewpoint continually shifts as your eyes move around the composite picture. His embrace of photography and new technology throughout his prolific career illustrates the importance of an open mind, of trying to see the world from a different point of view.
I am intrigued by the way David Hockney express different perspective through the use of "collaging". "The Perfect Shoe" is an exaggeration of trendy and hype shoes that according to real life cases, people would starve themselves just to get them. The final will be a slap in the face of the different corners and design of the shoe, focusing on the beauty rather than the trend and popularity of
the product.
